Eagles help Warriors get to nationals

Central Junior High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America team has partnered with Elmdale Elementary School’s Girls on the Run team to help a Central student attend the FCCLA national conference in San Diego.

Students have so far raised $500 in support of Sabrina Hall, a former Elmdale Eagle and current Central Warrior. Hall is one of 18 students from Central who qualified to compete at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference this summer.

Members compete in categories such as Career Investigation, Parliamentary Procedure, Job Interview, Repurpose and Redesign and Nutrition and Wellness.

FCCLA is a career and technical student organization that functions as an integral part of the family and consumer sciences education curriculum and operates within the school system. FCCLA members have been making a difference in families, careers and communities by addressing important personal, work and societal issues since 1945.

Through participation in competitive events, community service opportunities, student leadership and leadership conferences, members develop real-world skills, explore career pathways and become college- and career-ready.
