To the Springdale Community,
Student and staff health and safety is the number one concern of Springdale Public Schools. Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and Secretary of Education Johnny Key recommend school districts in counties without a presumptive case remain open in order to not disrupt community life, especially meal services for children and health services for all. The CDC guidance on COVID-19 is that short to medium duration school closings are not recommended. The major request is for good judgment be in place for hygiene for all students and staff along with social distancing. Springdale Public Schools will remain open.

Happy National School Counselors Week! Ericka Fuentes reflects on her past four years at Lee Elementary School as the school counselor. She says “Growing up and being in school, I felt that if I had a little extra support when life got tough, things would have been smoother for me. I do what I do because I want to be able to provide that kind of support for our students and our school.” Great counselors help make Springdale Public Schools #THEChoice.

Because of a grant provided by the American Heart Association and rb, Lee Elementary has 3 new water bottle filling stations! We had a ribbon cutting for these yesterday. This is an initiative of Healthy, Active Arkansas and Beaver Water District. So many partners came together to make this happen! Every Lee student will also receive a free water bottle!
